The 2025 Acura RDX is a five-passenger compact luxury SUV built around three constants: a 2.0-liter VTEC® turbocharged four-cylinder making 272 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, a 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD®) as standard equipment on every trim. The 2025 model line is configured as five clearly-priced packages — Standard, Technology ($47,300), A-Spec® ($50,300), Advance ($52,450), and A-Spec Advance ($54,450). Every trim shares the same 272-hp powertrain, panoramic moonroof, Jewel Eye® LED headlights, AcuraWatch™ safety suite, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and a 10.2-inch dual-content center display. Built on a lightweight unibody with a 30 mm front and 23 mm rear stabilizer bar, the RDX delivers EPA-rated 21 city / 27 highway / 23 combined MPG on the Standard, Technology and Advance trims, and 21/26/23 on A-Spec configurations with 20-inch wheels. Premium 91-octane fuel is recommended.

A 16-valve, DOHC, direct-injected turbocharged inline-four produces 272 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a flat 280 lb-ft of torque from 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. That broad torque plateau is what makes the RDX feel quick in real traffic, not just on a dyno.
A 10-speed automatic with sequential SportShift paddle shifters keeps the engine in its torque sweet spot. Final drive is 4.17:1, the first gear is short (5.25:1) for off-the-line response, and overdrive 10th (0.52:1) keeps highway revs and fuel use down.
Standard SH-AWD® doesn't just shuffle torque front-to-rear. It vectors power between the rear wheels to rotate the SUV through a corner — and crucially for Buffalo winters, it pre-emptively distributes torque before a wheel slips, not after.
Four selectable drive modes — Snow, Comfort, Normal, Sport — change throttle mapping, transmission shift logic, steering weight, and (on Advance trims) damper firmness. Snow mode is genuinely useful in WNY, not a gimmick.

We sell a lot of RDXs at West Herr Acura because the SUV does well in the snow — and we say that having delivered them across Erie, Niagara, Genesee, and Wyoming counties for years. There are three reasons it works here.
First, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is standard, not an upgrade. SH-AWD pre-emptively sends up to 70% of torque to the rear axle and can vector all of that to a single rear wheel — meaning it's already moving torque around before a tire breaks loose, which is exactly what you want pulling out of a snowed-in driveway in Williamsville or merging onto the Kensington in February.
Second, the RDX comes with Snow mode in the Integrated Dynamics System as standard equipment. It softens throttle inputs and changes shift points to reduce wheelspin on slick takeoffs. Third, the cabin is genuinely winter-friendly: heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and a windshield wiper de-icer are all available — most as part of the Advance package — so you're not waiting for the cabin to thaw on a 14-degree morning.

Yes — every 2025 Acura RDX comes with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD®) as standard equipment. There is no front-wheel-drive RDX. SH-AWD distributes torque between the front and rear axles, and between the rear wheels themselves, to improve handling and traction in all conditions. It is a meaningful asset in Western New York winters.
All five 2025 RDX trims share the same 272-hp turbocharged engine, 10-speed automatic, SH-AWD®, panoramic moonroof, AcuraWatch™ safety suite, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, and 10.2-inch dual-content display.
The packages add features rather than performance. Technology adds 19" wheels, leather seats, ELS Studio® 12-speaker audio, navigation, and ambient lighting.
